Went there recently to experience the 7 course tasting menu. Wasn't overly wowed by the courses; the dessert was by far the best course for me. I expect to try things with a tasting menu that I may not love but I will say that every time I have gone to Anew table in Calgary I have left completely excited about the food experience and I didn't feel that way after leaving the Hayloft. I would have given them 3 or 4 stars if it was based on the taste of the food alone; however, 4 courses were served to us cold (including our pork) which was the huge dissapointment. They didn't seem bothered by our consistent comments on the cold temperature of our food but instead seemed more concerned about rushing us out so that they could close the restaurant.

Every time I go to Hayloft I am so impressed and surprised. New food items that have blown me away! From the ragu to the lamb, from the kale Caesar to the spicy meatball soup! The amazing food and incredible service make this restaurant stand out as the best.

Of the 7 courses 3 of them were pasta dishes which we found to be quite odd compared to other tasting menu's that we have tried. Every course had one thing in common, the food was cold when only one dish should have been that way. While the food was cool, and tasted o.k. there wasn't really a wow factor to any of the dishes. For the cost of the meal we have had far better offerings in Calgary on multiple occasions. Unfortunately there was nothing in the meal or the service that has given us any reason to return.

Priced like a top tier foodie place, nothing spectacular but some western style to breakfast. Essentially the brunch menu isn't as varied as I'd expect compared to most of the Calgary trendy places but it's an interesting alternative to the mass market chains for the small town. If you want to avoid the chains and try something where they do a bit of a western flair it'll be interesting but expect to pay about 25% higher than a top tier Calgary Brunch location for mid grade food. Essentially Cora's level quality with some flair at a much higher price.

Unfortunately, the venue is fantastic with incredible potential however the food was MOST disappointing and overpriced. I had the $42 sirloin which amounted to very hard to find (3 ounce at best) chopped up bits of meat in a soup of unidentifiable flavourless white goo. (How do you ruin a local raised steak?) My wife was unlucky enough to order the PEI muscles which were only partially cooked. Tough to get down, even the trooper she is. Possiblely the other dishes are good but we will never be back to try. Service is 4.5/10. Thanks for the pop spilled all over us... to add insult to injury.

Have been there twice now. Once just after they opened and again early in 2018 to see if things had improved. Went for the 7 course tasting menu and unfortunately I can't say we will be returning for a third experience. Setting aside the fact that they rushed us through the tasting menu with very little time between courses the food left a fair bit to be desired.
